This is a fantasy story idea I've started typing, though I'm not sure whether I'll continue writing it or not. It follows at least two groups of people, one noticably at war, and the other following a young mage who senses something is wrong in the world she's entered. So...
The city below glittered under the morning sunlight and dew, its place on the hillside marked by marble walls and copper temples. Above the city a group of people stood looking down in the spring wind, watching the busy citizens going about their day.
"Well, it looks like Ecifircas is peaceful as usual," Nigan stuck his hands in his pockets, waiting for the reply from the young mage and her assitance. The girl simply stood there, looking over the city with a quiet feeling of dread. Even as she had come to the place she had felt a sickly feeling that there was something wrong on the land, but she hadn't admitted to the feeling yet.
"Well?" Lira asked, grinning. "What do you think? This is the first time I've been to a temple city!"
"I..." The mage was at a loss for words. Here she was... it was the first time she had a chance to visit a city other than the training grounds, and she couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling that she was stepping into a pit of angry irsnas. It was probably just the nervousnous of being new here, but in the back of her mind she remembered that Ecifircas had very little known history. It had sprung up on the edge of the cliff as a testament that peace was achievable, given a little time. "Let's go," she said stepping forward forcefully. She couldn't let odd feelings get in the way of experiencing a new city.
Remember, no stealing, and I've posted this on Wajas for people to read as well. Comments and thoughts are appreciated. :-)
