Hiya
I just have a little question, I wasn't sure where to post it... Lol.
Umm so I know I should probably know this, but I forgot. So can anyone refresh my memory on how to make transparent GIF's? Like the background. 'Cause I made the background of my signature and my avatar in brown so it would match the forum, then I realized that every other post is in a different color brown. =/ IE: If I were to post a second time, the background of the post would be a different color than my sig & avatar. I hope that's not too confusing. So yeah I was gonna make it transparent but I forgot how! Any ideas?
P.S. Also, how do you link your signature to your website? Sorry so many questions! >.<
Thanks! ~Hailie

What program are you using to make transparencies? I only know how to do it on PaintShop Pro.
PS LOVE the sig!

To make transparent images using Paint Shop Pro: Chose a color to paint your background that is not used in the image. For example a hot pink. When you go to save it, make sure you your web tool bar is available by right clicking on the top part of the program, and select the very last option "Toolbars", then select "Web ToolBar". Now follow these steps: 1) Click "Gif" on your toolbar. 2) Now, select the last option in "Transparency", "Areas that match this color". 3) Click the color box, and use the droplet to select the same color as the background of your image (for example, the hot pink that was suggested earlier). 4) Now, click "Ok" and save You should now have a transparent background in PSP. To make a transparent background using Photoshop: 1) Using the selection tool, select all the areas that you want transparent, by holding down the "Shift" button, you can select multiple areas. 2) Once you have all the areas you wish to be transparent select, simply press the "delete" button your keyboard. 3) You should now see a checkered background-- that's your transparency. Now you may click save as "gif". Give it a file name and you're all done! Hope these were helpful, if you have any questions, feel free to ask

Dane - you could always just hit the background, hit Delete then hit "Save for Web"... I think it gets the colors a bit smoother. (I don't know what version you're using, but it works in 7...)
